ESL Program Faculty
Matt M
I was born in Boston MA. I received a degree in political science from Northeastern University. Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked for the Verizon Corporation in Massachusetts and New York for over five years. In 2004, I left the company to become a teacher. I went to China to receive my TEFL certification. After that I was an English teacher in Zhuhai China for approximately one year. In June of 2005 I relocated to San Francisco. In San Francisco I started working for GEOS. I am avid traveler. I have lived in Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. My other interests include chess, good movies, spy novels, and Chinese history.
Joe G
Joe has been teaching ESL for ten years. He has taught in Seattle, Korea , Japan, and now in San Francisco. Joe really likes teaching because it allows him to be creative and meet lots of different kinds of people. Joe's philosophy in the classroom is: it should be educational but it should also be fun! In Joe's free time he performs stand up comedy all over San Francisco.
Paul A
Paul has been teaching English for the past four years. He moved to San Francisco from Ireland in August 2005 with his wife, a San Francisco native. He has previously taught in South Korea and Ireland. His worst teaching experience was teaching the alphabet through the medium of song and dance to Korean kindergarteners and his best is of course with the wonderful students at GEOS. His hobbies include cooking, bird watching, and listening to depressing music from the 1980's.
