Happy 2012 everyone! What a wonderful start to the New Year. January weather in San Francisco is mild, unlike other cities in the United States. We have had sunny, clear days, great for sightseeing.
This month we visited the Castro with our GEOS students and enjoyed the local flavor.

This month, San Francisco hosts its Edwardian Ball, a costume party at the Regency Ballroom. Get a glimpse of 19th century fashion!

The parade starts on Market, goes up Geary, down Post and ends on Kearny at Columbus. Parade highlights include elaborate floats, lion dancers, folk dancers, marching bands, stilt walkers, Chinese acrobats, and a 250 foot long Golden dragon that takes a team of over 100 men and women to carry.

Student Testimonial for ESL English & TOEFL iBT Course at GEOS San Francisco

"Hi my name is Quentin and I'm from France. What I love about my GEOS class, maybe the teacher because they are very nice, very helpful. We are not a big class so we can increase our speaking and our grammar. All of my classmates was very cool, nice, friendly. It was great. My favorite thing was to be with Matt in class because he is very energetic and we can learn words from the world outside.

In San Francisco I love to be in Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39 or maybe the football stadium. I went to two San Francisco 49ers games with my host family. I liked my host family a lot. I was so lucky to have this family.

I will miss my classmate, my teacher and the spirit in GEOS. My word for GEOS is friendly."

Quentin Dauce, France
