iBT TOEFL PREPARATION CLASS IN SAN FRANCISCO

At GEOS English Academy, San Francisco, our TOEFL Preparation Class has be updated to help international students who are preparing to take the iBT TOEFL exam for entrance into American colleges and universities. This comprehensive course helps students prepare for all sections (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) of the iBT TOEFL test by developing special skills and strategies that lead to more efficient test taking. Our TOEFL Preparation course can help you reach your goals.

Our iBT TOEFL Preparation Class meets five days per week, for a total of 22 educational hours each week. Students work with two different instructors and the most up-to-date, effective textbooks and materials available. There is a two-part focus of the iBT TOEFL Preparation Class. The first focus is on improving your English skill. Students work on vocabulary building, critical listening and reading, essay writing, and speaking. The writing teacher gives each student individual help each week with their essays. The second focus is on building TOEFL skills and test strategies to help you get a good score. Every iBT TOEFL test is different, but every test has the same kinds of questions. We help you get familiar with the types of questions TOEFL asks. Once each week, students hone their skills by taking practice TOEFL tests - a great way to build test taking stamina and monitor your improvement. At the end of each four-week session, each student has a one-on-one counseling session with one of their teachers. This is how we help you monitor your progress. After each three month semester, students receive a report card. All students receive a GEOS certificate.

All students applying for the iBT TOEFL Preparation Class must take our TOEFL placement exam in order to determine their current TOEFL Level. This exam is offered free of charge and obligation, and is offered by appointment only. A minimum score of (PBT) 430 or equivalent is required to join the TOEFL class. If you have already taken the TOEFL exam in the past year and have a score report showing that you have achieved at least our minimum score requirement, we will waive the placement exam. Exceptions to this policy are at the discretion of the Academic Coordinator.
